Nordic Track Elliptical Review

Can a Nordic Track elliptical bring long term value to your aerobic fitness workouts? We have reviewed and broken down all elliptical models Nordic Track has to offer to the fitness industry. Let’s first take a look at their. These brand is mainly popular for their best budget elliptical machines.

Company Background

Nordic Track has been in business for over 20 years and offers a variety of fitness equipment, including the almost new elliptical trainer. They first started off with the Nordic Track Skiers and evolved to making treadmills, elliptical, bikes, steppers, and the list goes on.

The Nordic Track company is a subsidiary of Icon Health & Fitness, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of fitness equipment. Icon also manufactures elliptical for Reebok, Wesco, Preform, Health rider and other brands.

Nordic Track trainers are mainly offered in the mid end price range but they also compete in the low end range. The elliptical machines range from $599 to $1,999, mainly in the low end range.

Strong Point

Nordic Track fitness equipment are known to have a ton of features. There are so many integrated features in the display you’ll feel like your James Bond in action.

Most of them offer Quick ramp incline setting where, with a touch of a button, the cross ramp of the elliptical can elevate or decline. This is great to target different muscles in your legs.

All Nordic Track elliptical trainers have an impressive 18 inch stride length. This adds more of a natural glide to your stride without interrupting your flow.

Nordic Track is renowned for making very compact equipment at an affordable price. Its elliptical have a unique look and feel to them that catches the eye of several fitness consumers. In general, they aren’t massive elliptical trainers that have a lot of trouble fitting in your home. On the contrary, they are well sized for home use.

Weak Point

Although it has many features, don’t let this fool your judgment on the more important factors such as warranty, stability, reliability and quality.

In general, they don’t have the superior quality finish as other elliptical brands. But keep in mind that these elliptical are low-mid end machines. They certainly won’t match the quality and longevity of higher ended elliptical trainers.

We recommend a Nordic Track elliptical for light to moderate use, nothing more. For the price you will pay on a Nordic track elliptical, the warranty is weak. They usually offer a lifetime on frame, one year on parts and labor. This is not a horrible warranty but taking the many features their elliptical offer into consideration, we would like to see a longer warranty on parts. We recommend you opt for the extended warranty.

All in all, these elliptical machines offer a generous stride length and many features but like their treadmills, they lack quality components. Down the road, they may cause you some problems.

For reassurance we definitely recommend an extended warranty. However, unlike many other low end elliptical, you can benefit from the many features incorporated in their design at an affordable price.
